This Privacy Policy explains how HairStudio ("we", "us", "the app") collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you use the HairStudio mobile application. By using the app, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Who we are

HairStudio is a mobile application that uses artificial intelligence to let users try on different hairstyles on their own photos. The app is offered as-is by the HairStudio team. If you have questions about this policy, contact us at support@hairstudio.app.

2. Information we collect

We collect only the data needed to run the app. This falls into the following categories:

2.1 Account data

Email address — used for account sign-in via magic-link authentication. We do not store passwords.
Unique user identifier — automatically assigned by our authentication provider.

2.2 Photos you upload

Selfies — photos you upload in order to generate an AI-styled result. These are stored in a private storage bucket that only you can access.
Generated images — the AI-styled result images are linked to your account and stored so that you can view them in your history.

2.3 Usage and purchase data

Credit balance — the number of AI generations you have remaining.
In-app purchase receipts — when you buy a credit pack, we store the Apple / Google receipt so we can verify and grant credits.
Generation history — style chosen, timestamps, and a link to your result image.

2.4 Technical data

Basic device and app information (app version, operating system version, device model) that is included automatically with requests.
Locale / language preference, to display the app in your language.

We do not collect: phone numbers, home address, payment card numbers (Apple / Google handles payments), contacts, precise location, calendar, or health data.

3. How we use your information

4. Third parties we share data with

We use the following service providers to operate the app. Each one receives only the data needed to perform its function:

4.1 Supabase (backend & storage)

Supabase hosts our database, authentication, and file storage. Your account data, credit balance, generation history, and uploaded selfies are stored on Supabase's infrastructure.

4.2 Replicate (AI image processing)

When you request a hairstyle change, your selfie is sent to Replicate, which runs the AI model that produces the styled image. Replicate processes the image to generate the result and does not use your photos to train its models when requests are sent via the standard API.

4.3 Apple App Store & Google Play

In-app purchases are processed by Apple (on iOS) or Google (on Android). We never see your payment card details. We only receive a purchase receipt that we use to verify and grant credits.

We do not sell your personal information to advertisers or data brokers. We do not share your data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

5. How long we keep your data

Account & credits: kept while your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of your account deletion request.
Uploaded selfies: kept for up to 30 days after generation, then automatically deleted, unless you save them to your history (in which case they are kept until you delete them or your account).
Generated images: kept in your history until you delete them or delete your account.
Purchase receipts: kept for as long as required by accounting and tax laws (typically 7 years).

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including GDPR for EU users, KVKK for Turkey, CCPA for California), you have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Correct inaccurate data.
Delete your account and associated data.
Export your data in a machine-readable format.
Object to certain processing, or withdraw consent where applicable.
Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@hairstudio.app. We respond within 30 days.

7. Children

HairStudio is rated 12+ and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data:

All communication between the app and our servers uses HTTPS / TLS encryption.
Access to your stored selfies is protected by row-level security: only your account can read your files.
We do not store plaintext passwords because we use magic-link authentication.

No system is perfectly secure. If we become aware of a breach affecting your data, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

9. International data transfers

Our service providers operate servers in the United States and the European Union. By using the app, you understand that your data may be processed outside of your country of residence. We rely on standard contractual clauses and the privacy policies of our providers to protect your data during these transfers.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top tells you when the most recent change was made. For significant changes, we will notify you in-app or by email. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
